Back to School Bash
Tue Sept 1 · 3 – 5 PMThe lodge hosts Newport Community Schools’ free community bash — school supplies for students, free haircuts for kids, prizes, food, a live DJ, and a bouncy house. All Newport public school families welcome. Want to volunteer? Contact JoAnne Ritchie.
Labor Day at the Lodge
Mon Sept 7 · opens at noonThe lodge opens early at noon for Labor Day, with drink specials all day in the Member’s Lounge.
Lodge Meetings & Orientation
Meetings Tue 9/8 & 9/22 · 7 PM · Orientation Tue 9/15 · 5:30 PMBack to the regular two-meeting schedule. New member orientation runs September 15 in the Honor Room — members only; the Member’s Lounge is closed during meetings.
Pouring for a Purpose · Celebrity Bartender’s Night
Thu Sept 17 · 4 – 7 PMLocal celebrity bartenders pour for tips supporting Alzheimer’s research — plus purple flowers on sale in the Lounge all month.
Flea Market & Craft Fair

POW/MIA Recognition Ritual
Sun Sept 20 · 2 – 3:30 PMVeterans and members gather in the Lodge Room for the POW/MIA Recognition Ritual — honoring those who never came home. You are not forgotten.
Newport Comedy Night
Sat Sept 26 · 7:30 PMTicketed PG-13 stand-up in the Lodge Room, featuring top headliners from the New York and Boston comedy scenes.
Walk to End Alzheimer’s
Sun Sept 27 · 9 AM · Fort AdamsJoin the lodge team at Fort Adams for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s — the capstone of a month of ALZ fundraising at the lodge.
Grand Exalted Ruler Visit & Luncheon
Wed Sept 30The Grand Exalted Ruler — the national leader of the entire Order — visits Newport #104 for a luncheon. A rare honor for the lodge; plus the Monthly Madness jackpot drawing that evening at 9 PM.
Ongoing Social Activities
Pickleball
Saturdays & Sundays 10 AM – 2 PM in the gym. Bring your own paddle — all levels welcome.
Queen of Hearts
One card is drawn each week, and the jackpot grows until the Queen of Hearts is revealed. Rules & details →
Trivia Potluck
Monday nights, trivia starts at 6:30 PM. Four rounds, six questions each. Teams of no more than 6.
Mahjong
Fridays 1 – 3 PM in the Honor Room. Come learn how to play — no experience necessary. All skill levels welcome.
Yoga
Wednesdays 4 – 5 PM in the Lodge Room. Slow-flow class — bring your own mat.
Literary Circle
Last Thursday of the month at 6 PM in the Honor Room. Join fellow members to discuss the month's book pick.
